In 2008, my daughter started working for a local It’s a Grind Coffee House® in Diamond Bar, California. Tricia soon became more involved in the day to day operations and as time passed, she couldn’t help but notice the enormous amount of coffee grounds that were being discarded daily. “Dad,” she said “You should come up with a way to use these coffee grounds for something”. My son William came up with the name “JavaGrow” and so it all began….

I started placing the raw grounds around many different types of plants. Right away I noticed an improvement in the color, growth and overall health of the plants. After months of experimentation trying many different combinations and composting techniques, I developed our current process and formula.

Today, we have a natural and organic method of generating some of the best soil improvement material available. We hand mix coffee grounds and several organic materials then place them into a composter that mixes the contents several times daily. This process lasts for several weeks thoroughly decomposing the coffee grounds.

JavaGrow methodology has recycled an excess of 3 tons of coffee grounds that would have otherwise been added to the landfill. In order to have a healthy and green earth, we must do our part to help reduce our footprint. JavaGrow makes a difference by reusing something that was originally discarded.
